Claridge’s salutes its art deco heritage in the recent redecoration of its rooms and suites, including Bryan O’Sullivan Studio’s Mayfair Suite.
It presents a contemporary take on early 20th century style.
Classic art deco shapes include a scallop-back sofa made to echo the shape of two existing chairs.
The motif is repeated on the headboard.
It was a technical achievement to create the smooth scallop shapes in leather and conceal the seams.
The studio also called on Ben Whistler to make chairs, a vanity stool and an ottoman for the end of the bed.
