Exacting design details, unusual finishes and a fast turnaround were the hallmarks of this project by luxury interior design studio Katharine Pooley. The design responds to the grandeur and beautiful proportions of the seven-storey Victorian villa, with Ben Whistler making several furniture pieces for the prestigious project.
Bedrooms feature fitted wall-to wall headboards, bespoke bed bases and bedsides.
The four-poster stands out for its attention to detail, with its distinctive eucalyptus veneer finish, gilded bands and fluted headboard; while complementary bedsides use the same veneer, with a contrast fabric for the drawer fronts, antique brass trim and handles, and fabric-lined drawers. Ben Whistler also made the ottoman at the end of the bed, with bespoke brass metalwork and fitted bolsters; and an elegant desk and joinery unit featuring silk wallpaper framed by a metal trim, with shelves on metal brackets.

Coffee tables, side tables, fitted headboards and a desk/vanity unit with lift-up top were also made for the sitting room and further bedrooms, while in the home cinema, existing chairs and a generous sofa were reupholstered to give them a new lease of life.
A basement games room includes bar stools with a double cross-rail detail, upholstered in Whistler Leather’s Tangiers leather in deep-green Balsam Fir.
