Created by Argent Design, the expansive bar/entertaining space in this north-west London house features several bespoke pieces made by Ben Whistler.

A row of marble-topped tables with fluted, cone-shaped bases and metal inset and trim are backed by panelled walls in patterned upholstery, designed to exactly fit with the timber joinery; a separate dining table echoes the design of the smaller tables.

Dining chairs feature stained-beech frames with studding detail and contrasting fabrics on the front and back.

A seating area includes two facing sofas, one larger than the other but both with the same curved, asymmetrical form, which were made in sections and assembled on site for portability and ease of access. Between them are a nest of coffee tables – one in antique brass with a mirrored top, which slots neatly over its upholstered companion – and a larger upholstered ottoman with a fringing and a recessed base.

Off the kitchen, a more informal seating area includes a very large L-shaped sofa (4.5m long, with a 2.8m return), and an upholstered ottoman with a deep-buttoned top and turned legs.
