The Patisserie at The Connaught
London

In shades of pink and coral offset by white marble, Ab Rogers Design’s scheme for The Connaught’s patisserie is a spacial version of a pastel macaron or a perfectly iced cake.

Ben Whistler made the chairs, tables and banquettes for this warm, tactile and inviting space.
The curved chairs in coral leather and blackened steel took time to perfect; prototyping made sure that the height and comfort levels were just right. A return-swivel mechanism means that they swing neatly back into place.
Marble-topped tables are made from the same blackened steel with brass accents.

A sliced-off section in their circular tops means that two can tessellate together to create space for four people.

They are backed by a pair of long grey leather banquettes in stitched, fluted leather, which also went through a prototyping process to ensure their comfort.
