Birnam Brasserie
GLENEAGLES
PERTHSHIRE

Working for Ennismore, owners of Gleneagles, Ben Whistler supplied the majority of the furniture for Birnam Brasserie. This airy space was designed in the spirit of the grand European cafes of the early 20th century, and Ben Whistler’s bar stools, tables, dining chairs, sofas and banquettes set the scene.

The Scottish hotel’s all-day-dining venue is an informal space, and the furniture reflects that
The curving cane-backed chairs are a bespoke dining-chair version of the iconic bentwood bistro design, with upholstered seating for comfort. They are complemented by buttoned banquettes in green leather and sage mohair.
Bringing a more opulent look to the brasserie

Oak has been used for the robust turned bases of the tables (with tops in the same material, or in Carrara marble) and the Winter Garden’s sofas, which have open slatted sides; the tables in this room have cast iron bases. At the bar, leather and fabric stools with antique brass detailing bring a more opulent look to the brasserie.
